COVID-19 Increased Revenue for Social Media Influencers

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way influencers on social media are doing business, which includes providing them a great opportunity to livestream. This grants them many benefits.

Before the pandemic, influencers may have been traveling, going shopping or attending events, but now that has changed.

According to Business Insider, influencers can earn hundreds to thousands of dollars a month. They can make this much money just by promotion or appearing on a livestream with a brand.

One of these platforms, Instagram, has recently updated and added more features for influencers to earn more money due the pandemic. Some examples of these features include buying badges and the incorporation of ads.

Instagram stated on its About section, “To give fans another way to participate and show their love, we’re introducing badges that viewers can purchase during a live video.”

Not only has Instagram added badges, but it has also added IGTV ads. What these can do for influencers is give them the opportunity to make more money by letting them share advertising revenue.

“IGTV has given me a place to show my fans more of my creativity and personality, which has helped grow my personal brand,” said influencer and TikToker Avani Greeg on Instagram.

With the opportunity to livestream like Greeg, influencers are able to connect with fans. Audiences can link with influencers by asking questions and leaving comments in the comment box during the livestream. This allows fans to build trust with the influencers.

The availability of badges and IGTV ads has opened doors for livestreaming. It has helped them market their brands and products more easily and effectively. Even though the pandemic has made for tough times, it has given influencers more positive opportunities.
