Playing two teams on the same day could not stop Palomar’s softball team as they won their double header against Santiago Canyon, 5-2, and Mt. SAC, 4-1. The three-way non-conference affair was held at Palomar’s field with the Comet’s defeating the 2014 state final four SC Hawks in the first game at 11 a.m. Kristina Carbajal got her second win in as many days pitching while, offensively, Kali Pugh went 3-3 with 3 RBI’s. Second base Brooke Huddleson also went 3-4. The Comets got most of their scoring done early with four runs in the first three innings.

In the 2 p.m. game it was Comet’s freshman Summer Evans whose complete game, 1-run performance took the spotlight. The pitcher from Escondido High School earned her 17th win of the season as she led the Comet’s to their 21st consecutive victory.

The Comets go for #22 today when they travel to Grossmont College.
