Comets XC competes in So Cal Championships

The Comet Men’s and Women’s Cross Country teams competed in the Southern California championships on Nov. 7 at Los Angeles Trade Tech’s university. As a collective, the mens squad finished 24th in the field of 28 for the 4 mile competition with a total time of 1:53:58. Sophomore Matthew Bella led the team with an average mile of 5:35.8 finishing 111th out of 203 runners.

The women’s team placed 20th out of 27 in the 5K with a total time of 1:48:12. Sophomore Jessica Steinhoff finished with a team-best mile average of 6:06.8 finishing a strong 16th out of 177 runners.

Both teams will next run Nov. 22 in the California Community College State Championships.
