<\/span>CalFresh<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Is a program for low-income families and individuals that meet certain income guidelines.

<\/span>CalWORKs<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

CalWORKs <\/a>(California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids) is a state-funded program that assists welfare recipients and those in transition off of welfare through education and training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Early Childhood Education Lab Schools (ECELS)<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Palomar students may qualify for free or reduced childcare costs.  Parents are encouraged to contact the ECELS<\/a> to find out about waitlists and possible openings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Disability Resource Center (DRC)<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The DRC<\/a> works collaboratively with students, faculty and staff to create accommodations to remove environmental barriers to access and bolster student retention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Enrollment Services<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Apply and register for classes in Enrollment Services<\/a>. We’re here for students from the start through graduation. Priority registration<\/a> assignments are posted in MyPalomar approximately two weeks prior to the registration period. You may qualify for priority registration if you are a first-time student, Disability Resource Center (DRC) student, EOP&S, foster youth, CalWORKS student, an eligible veteran, or active duty military personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>EOP&S <\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Extended Opportunities Programs and Services<\/a> (EOPS) is a state-funded program designed for the orientation, recruitment and retention of California residents who are economically, socially, and educationally disadvantaged. EOPS assists students in reaching their educational goals through academic support and financial assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Financial Aid<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

You have many options when it comes to paying for college. Apply for Financial Aid<\/a> today to see if you qualify for a scholarship, grant or other financial aid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Food & Nutrition Center<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Food & Nutrition Center<\/a> is a full pantry available to all students who might be facing food insecurity. You have access to diapers\/wipes, baby food (when available), limited toiletries (supply and variety of items fluctuate) and feminine hygiene products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Foster Youth<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

FYRST<\/a> (Foster Youth Retention Success and Transition) provides a sense of belonging and purpose for foster youth students. FYRST strives to create equal opportunities and promote access to resources which allow students to achieve their goals and dreams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Health Services<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The mission of Palomar College Health Services<\/a> is to support the physical, mental and social well-being of our students through accessible, high-quality health and wellness services. Palomar College is a breastfeeding-friendly campus that offers a clean and private Lactation Pod<\/a> for breastfeeding and pumping. Students can contact the Student Health Center at (760) 891-7530 to obtain a key code for the lactation pod.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Veterans Services<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Veterans Services<\/a> supports all Veterans, Active Duty, and Dependents currently enrolled at Palomar College. We strive to provide the most-up-to-date information pertaining to Veteran Affairs Educational benefits and policies to our students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Community Resources<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>2-1-1 WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Applications\/Certification<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

211 WIC<\/a> is a supplemental nutrition program to help pregnant women, infants and children (up to age 5) eat well, stay healthy, and be active. At no cost to qualifying participants, WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) provides checks for nutritious foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and referrals to community resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>California Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC)<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

You may be eligible for a California Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC) up to $3,417 for tax year 2022 as a working family or individual earning up to $30,000 per year. Check if you qualify: CalEITC<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free basic tax return preparation to qualified individuals, including: people who generally make $60,000 or less, persons with disabilities, and limited English-speaking taxpayers. Services are free. Direct Referral<\/a> for CalEITC and VITA assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Young Child Tax Credit (YCTC)<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Young Child Tax Credit (YCTC) provides a credit up to $1,083 per tax return for Californians who qualify for CalEITC<\/a> and have a child under 6 years old. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
