The Sociology program offers courses to prepare students for upper-division programs in sociology at four-year colleges and universities, and we offer an <a href=\"https:\/\/palomar.curriqunet.com\/catalog\/iq\/CreditPrograms\/Alphabetical\/Sociology-AAT\/Summary\">Associate in Arts in Sociology for Transfer<\/a> degree (AA-T Sociology).<\/p>\n<p class=\"style10 style7 style8\">A sociology course, Introduction to Women&#8217;s Studies (SOC 115), is one of the core courses required for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/sociology\/womens-studies\/\">A.A. degree in Gender, Sexuality, and Women&#8217;s Studies<\/a>. For those interested in topics related to gender and women&#8217;s studies, please note that <span style=\"color: #000000\">Women&#8217;s History Month<\/span> is celebrated at the college throughout the month of March with a series of events.<\/p>\n<p class=\"style10 style7 style8\">There are currently six <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/sociology\/full-time-faculty\/\">full-time faculty members<\/a> and twelve <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/sociology\/part-time-faculty\/\">part-time faculty members<\/a> teaching sociology at Palomar College.<\/p>\n<p>Watch the video <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/dQkAHTgS0aQ?si=LX2Jfz80L48gmg_G\">How to search for a Course Outline of Record or Program Summary<\/a> to learn how to find the CORs for Palomar classes. <span class=\"style8\">No user ID or password is required.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>There are unique <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/sociology\/slos\/\">Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)<\/a> for all sociology classes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Department Statement on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (adopted <\/strong><strong>September 2020):<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Sociology discipline of Palomar College stands in solidarity with our Black students and colleagues.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-style: inherit;font-weight: inherit\">Sociology offers a critical lens through which we analyze and shine a light on forms of inequality and oppression within the Black community and all communities of color widely.
