Free Skin Screening Exams
May 18, 2016 - May 19, 2016
The Student Health Centers are offering Free Skin Screening Exams to students in April and May for Skin Cancer Awareness Month. An appointment with the physician or nurse practitioner is required and can be made by calling the Student Health Centers at: (760) 744-1150, extension 2380 (San Marcos) or extension 8105 (Escondido Center).
It is estimated that one in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime, and one person dies from melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, every hour. Fortunately, most skin cancers, including melanoma, are highly curable if detected early and treated properly.
For more information on skin cancer prevention and early detection, visit: https://www.aad.org/public/spot-skin-cancer.
