{"id":57,"date":"2014-08-08T00:27:19","date_gmt":"2014-08-08T07:27:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/servicelearning\/?page_id=57"},"modified":"2026-05-11T12:54:10","modified_gmt":"2026-05-11T19:54:10","slug":"scholarship","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/servicelearning\/scholarship\/","title":{"rendered":"Awards, Certificates and Recognition"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Certificate of Completion, and Graduation Cords &amp; Stoles for Dedicated Service Learning Students.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Students who complete the following requirements for total service hours have the option to apply for the following:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Service Learning&nbsp;Certificate of Completion<\/strong> &#8211; &nbsp;<strong>15 hours<\/strong> of service.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Service Learning Graduation Cord<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; &nbsp;<strong>50 hours<\/strong> of service total while a student at Palomar College. We received a Foundation Grant to cover the $10 cost of the cord. Limited supply.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>&nbsp;Service Learning Graduation Embroidered Stole<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; <strong>&nbsp;100 hours<\/strong> of service total while a student at Palomar College. We received a Foundation Grant to cover the $15 cost of the stole. Limited supply.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please fill out the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/servicelearning\/request-form-for-the-service-learning-certificate-of-completion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Request form for the Service Learning Certificate of Completion, Graduation Cord and Stole<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #333333\">Excellence in Service Learning Award<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Service Learning Professors and Community Organizations are invited to nominate a student who has shined in his\/her Service Learning experience for the Excellence in Service Learning Award. Nominees will be asked to create a poster that advocates for the organization, explains their volunteer role, and the impact their service had on them personally, and academically, and what impact they made in the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Service Learning Committee will select the recipients of the annual Excellence in Service Learning Award. Award winners will be honored at the Service Learning Reception in May and will receive a Service Learning Stole and a small scholarship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Professors and Service Learning Supervisors- <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/servicelearning\/nomination-for-exceleence-in-service-learning\/\">Please nominate students here<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Award winners receive a small scholarship. Your charitable contributions make a difference to Palomar College Service Learning Students, and the community we serve. In the Spring, selected&nbsp;students will be awarded the annual Service Learning Scholarship.<br>Palomar College is proud to have so many excellent service learning students serving our community and
