Welcome home to Palomar College Rising Scholars! Palomar College Rising Scholars supports a thriving community of formerly incarcerated people dedicated to personal and professional success. The program is also a proud member of the Rising Scholars Network<\/a> that serves currently and formerly incarcerated individuals across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program encompasses two components: classes that take place at the Vista Detention Facility and an on-campus program. At the Vista Detention Facility, Palomar professors teach credit courses to currently incarcerated students. On campus, formerly incarcerated students can join the program anytime and become part of an engaged group of people liberating themselves through education. The program has a dedicated space<\/a> on the Palomar College San Marcos campus where students can get a snack and take a breather between classes, get peer mentor support, meet with staff, use computers for schoolwork, and more.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
