Emphasis is placed on constructing meaning, analyzing and synthesizing diverse text types, as well as exploring the relationship between strong reading skills and the physiological, psychological, and sociological aspects of life-long learning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Read 110 Power Reading (4)<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>3 hours lecture &#8211; 3 hours laboratory<\/li>\n<li>Transfer acceptability: CSU (Area E)<\/li>\n<li>Power Reading is the course for students who read at the college level. It aids in increasing reading rate and fluency, as well as the development of higher comprehension skills, and critical analysis in reading.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Read 120 Critical Reading (3)<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>3 hours lecture<\/li>\n<li>Recommended preparation: READ 110<\/li>\n<li>Transfer acceptability: CSU (Area A)<\/li>\n<li>Critical Reading is designed for college students who want to improve reasoning skills through reading.
