      As a dually accredited program, the Palomar College Police Academy is the best choice for future law enforcement professionals. The Basic Police Academy Program is certified by the <\/span>California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST)<\/strong><\/span><\/a> and recognized by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).<\/span><\/p>\n

      All academy staff are recognized law enforcement professionals and\u00a0current subject matter experts<\/span>. \u00a0As full-time law enforcement officers\u00a0and acting deputy district attorneys, academy instructors & staff\u00a0continuously develop and refine the training and curriculum that is\u00a0critical to the future success of Palomar College Police Academy\u00a0Recruits and graduates.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      Our program is a modular format, which allows recruits to either complete the entire year of training or to attend in modules.\u00a0<\/span>Modules are completed in descending order: Module III, then Module II, and then Module I.\u00a0<\/strong>For more information about this format, \u00a0click here<\/a><\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

      Any academy training program offered is with the approval of the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST).<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

      Training is conducted at the Public Safety Training Center located at 182 and 184 Santar Place in San Marcos, CA. This facility is fully equipped with law enforcement and general public safety equipment and classrooms.<\/p>\n

      Modules are completed in descending order (Module III, then Module II, and finally Module I).<\/p>\n

      We hold one academy class per year, which begins in January with the mandatory Police Academy Preparation Course.\u00a0<\/span>
      \nIf attending the entire program (Modules III, II, and I), the course is completed in mid-December each year.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

      Start dates of any academy training program are with the approval of the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST).<\/em><\/p>\n

      We are no longer accepting applications for the start of the 2026 Police Academy.\u00a0 If you have previously completed Module III & II Courses, you may apply for Module I<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/h5>\n

      We will begin accepting applications for the 2027 Police Academy by August 2026.\u00a0<\/span> Join our Interest List<\/a> to receive an email notification when the application period opens.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
