Note: No appeal shall be accepted after 21 calendar days of the citation issuance<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Campus Police will dismiss one citation per\u00a0semester for “No Permit” a permit as long as you had a valid permit at the time of the citation and were parked in the correct parking lot with the correct permit. \u00a0You must come to the Campus Police office by the date at the bottom of the citation with your California driver’s license and your citation. \u00a0You may park in the designated 20-minute parking space by the Campus Police office. \u00a0You are required to fill out a Dismissal form.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Complainant,<\/p>\n

Pursuant to California Vehicle Code Section 40215(a), you may contest this citation within 21 calendar days of issuance.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Appeals must be submitted within the first 21 days from the date of issuance.<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you feel you have incorrectly been issued a parking citation by the Palomar College Police Department, you may appeal the citation by completing the Appeal Form<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Upon receipt of this completed form, the citation will be reviewed a long with \u00a0the your\u00a0explanation\u00a0and the officer’s explanation. \u00a0You will be notified by mail within 3 to 5 weeks.<\/p>\n

1. \u00a0The citation should remain in your possession<\/span> until you receive an official letter determining the disposition of the citation.<\/p>\n

2. \u00a0If you have appealed a citation, and payment has been made, the appeal will no longer be valid. Citations must remain unpaid when going through the appeal process.<\/p>\n

3. \u00a0Any decision by the Administrative Reviewer will be mailed to the address indicated on the submitted appeal form.<\/p>\n

There are three (3) levels to appealing parking citations (California Vehicle Code 40215 and 40230):<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u2666 Level 1 If you feel you are unjustly issued a parking citation and wish to appeal, you must complete the appeal form and return it to the Police Department.\u00a0 Upon receipt of this completed form, the citation will be reviewed along with your explanation and the officer’s explanation.\u00a0 You will be notified of this decision by mail in 3 to 5 weeks.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u2666 Level 2 consists of an administrative hearing completed by a qualified hearing examiner either by written declaration or personal conference. \u00a0NOTE: \u00a0Proof of payment of citation is required.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u2666 Level 3 consists of a court hearing at Vista Superior Court. \u00a0Note: $25.00 Court Fees apply. <\/strong><\/p>\n

If you wish to pursue this matter further, <\/strong>you may request a court hearing within 30 calendar days from the mailing date of this notice by completing and submitting to San Diego Superior Court-North County Division (325 S. Melrose Drive, Vista, CA 92081) a Notice of Appeal \u2013 Administrative Parking Hearing (Form MO-035); this form is available on the San Diego Superior Court website or at any Superior Court of California, Count of San Diego courthouse.<\/p>\n

A copy of the Hearing Disposition (included with this letter) must be submitted at the time of the filing.<\/p>\n

Upon receipt of this completed form, the\u00a0Parking Citation Internal<\/strong>Administrative Reviewer<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>will review the citation, your explanation and the officer\u2019s explanation. You will be notified by mail within 3 to 5 weeks of the panel’s decision. The\u00a0Parking Citation Internal\u00a0<\/strong>Administrative Reviewer<\/strong>\u00a0is the final District authority concerning such reviews on campus.<\/p>\n
