{"id":10052,"date":"2016-10-07T13:08:13","date_gmt":"2016-10-07T20:08:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.palomarperforms.com\/?p=10052"},"modified":"2025-12-29T13:59:23","modified_gmt":"2025-12-29T21:59:23","slug":"dr-madelyn-byrne","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/palomarperforms\/dr-madelyn-byrne\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr. Madelyn Byrne"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3373 size-medium alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/palomarperforms\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/119\/2012\/08\/8140489118_4cf2a988d8_b-610x2251-1-432x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"156\" \/><strong><a href=\"mailto:mbyrne@palomar.edu\">Madelyn Byrne<\/a><\/strong> is a Professor of Music at Palomar College where she has been on the faculty since 2000.\u00a0 She is an active composer of both acoustic and computer music.\u00a0 Some recent pieces include The Decorah Eagle Violin Concerto (composed for Ulli Reiner and the Palomar Symphony Orchestra), In A Winter Landscape (for bass flute and computer, commissioned and recorded by Peter Sheridan for MOVE Records), Arrival (computer music with video art by Lily Glass, recorded to DVD for Everglade Records), and Northern Flight (for piano and computer, recorded by Peter Gach for Innova Records).<\/p>\n<p>Madelyn&#8217;s music has been presented in a variety of venues in Europe, Asia, Australia and North America.\u00a0 Some recent performances include The New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival, The Society of Composers, Inc.
