It does not apply to any applicant with a foreign bachelor&#8217;s degree or higher.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif;font-size: 12pt\"><strong>SECTION 1. Section 66055.8 of the Education Code is amended to read:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,palatino,serif;font-size: 12pt\">66055.8. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a campus of the California State University or the California Community Colleges that operates a registered nursing program shall not require a student who has been admitted to that registered nursing program and who has already earned a baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education to undertake any coursework other than the coursework that is unique and exclusively required to earn a nursing degree from that institution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">Per the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rn.ca.gov\/status.shtml\">California Board of Registered Nursing<\/a> and California Code of Regulations Section 1426, the following coursework is required for RN examination and endorsement applicants:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"list-understated\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">Communication skills shall include principals of:<\/span>\n<ul class=\"list-understated\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">Oral communication<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">Written communication<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">Group communication<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">Related natural sciences shall include:<\/span>\n<ul class=\"list-understated\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">Anatomy with lab<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">Physiology with lab<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">Microbiology with lab<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">Behavioral sciences (Psychology)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">Social sciences<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SB 1393 pertains to any student with a baccalaureate degree (or higher) awarded in the United States now seeking a nursing degree from a California Community College.
