SAN MARCOS \u2013 \u00a0Administrators at Palomar College have added more than 100 class sections in order to accommodate the nearly 25,000 students expected to attend classes during fall semester, which begins Monday, August 19. The total number of class sections to be offered is more than 2,500. In addition to added course options, students will find newly-opened facilities at both the San Marcos campus and the completely-remodeled Escondido Education Center.<\/p>\n
On the San Marcos campus, the new Performing Arts Complex features a remodeled Howard Brubeck Theatre with state-of-the-art light and sound, along with a smaller \u201cblack box\u201d theatre, dance studios, a large courtyard and more. In addition to being a venue for upcoming performances, the complex provides classroom space\u00a0 for several performing arts courses.<\/p>\n
The newly-remodeled T-building houses cabinet and furniture technology, welding technology, and an auto body paint booth. Also on the San Marcos campus, a brand new Teaching and Learning Center will open later in the fall semester. Changes in the food services area\u00a0 include the installation of a\u00a0 Jamba Juice store in the Student Union on the San Marcos campus.<\/p>\n
Along with a brand new look for the exterior of Palomar\u2019s Escondido Education Center, classrooms, offices, restrooms and other areas have been completely remodeled and upgraded.<\/p>\n
California community college fees remain an affordable higher education option at $46 a unit.
