\u201cThe World Is a Skate Park,\u201d featuring renowned photographer and Palomar alum Grant Brittain will have its KPBS debut on Thursday, November 18, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SAN MARCOS \u2014 A documentary film about legendary skate photographer Grant Brittain, who attended Palomar College decades ago, will air on KPBS on Thursday, November 18 at 9:17 p.m.\u2014a first local showing on public television for the 12-minute film by Palomar College Television (PCTV).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entitled \u201cThe World Is a Skate Park,\u201d the documentary will directly follow a film by Tony Hawk, \u201cSkate SD: Building Skateboarding\u2019s Future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGrant is known as one of the most prominent early skateboard photographers,\u201d said PCTV Producer and Director Bill Wisneski. \u201cHe helped start the Transworld Skateboarding magazine with a few other people as the founding photo editor. He was a huge part of developing skate photography nationally and worldwide.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The film premiered in the fall of 2019, the first in a series of documentaries produced by PCTV on photographer-alumni of the storied photography program at Palomar College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt highlights Grant Britton\u2019s career as a photographer,\u201d said Wisneski. \u201cHe was one of the ones who helped discover Tony Hawk\u2014he was a few years older than Tony and some of his photos helped launch Tony\u2019s career, and other skaters.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
