The Palomar College Foundation presents the 2020 Community Showcase \u2013 A Report to the Community.<\/span><\/p>\n When:<\/b><\/p>\n Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2021 Details:<\/b><\/p>\n \u201cExploring the Possibilities,\u201d Palomar College\u2019s third annual Community Showcase, will be held virtually\u2014an hourlong celebration of student success in the midst of staggering challenges, and an opportunity for the local community to hear from Palomar\u2019s leadership.<\/span><\/p>\n Hosted on Zoom by the Palomar College Foundation, the event will feature highlights from the 2019-2020 academic year; a message from Interim Superintendent\/President Dr. Jack Kahn; and a posthumous tribute to former Foundation Board Chair, John Masson. There will also be a special announcement in Masson\u2019s honor.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIt is a privilege to take a moment at this year\u2019s event to honor John Masson for his many contributions to both the College and the Foundation,\u201d said Stacy Rungaitis, Executive Director of the Palomar College Foundation.<\/span><\/p>\n A Palomar graduate and a long-time Foundation supporter and board member, Masson passed away in March 2020 at the age of 55.<\/span><\/p>\n Culminating the Jan. 27 Showcase will be a presentation on one of Palomar\u2019s newest academic programs: Cybersecurity.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cCybersecurity is such a hot topic right now, and a lot of businesses in our community are interested in it,\u201d Rungaitis said.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cAs we approach Palomar College\u2019s 75th anniversary this Fall, we are looking to the future, but also looking back at a lot of good work done to serve the students of North County,\u201d said Dr. Kahn. \u201cThe Community Showcase is a great way to connect with our stakeholders and let them know all of the exciting things that are happening at Palomar.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n There is no cost to attend the Community Showcase, but registration is required.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n More information:<\/b><\/p>\n Julie Lanthier Bandy, Acting Director, Public Affairs, 760-744-1150, ext. 2365 What: The Palomar College Foundation presents the 2020 Community Showcase \u2013 A Report to the Community.
