SAN MARCOS — At a Special Board meeting on November 17, 2015 the Palomar Community College District Governing Board held closed session deliberations to consider their options for a new Superintendent\/President.\u00a0 At the conclusion of their deliberations the Board announced the following:\u00a0 “In closed session, the Board took an action item to close the search for Superintendent\/President of Palomar College.\u201d<\/p>\n
In closing the search, the Board unanimously agreed to close the current search process and re-open with a new search in the near future.<\/p>\n
The District’s Superintendent\/President position was vacated by Robert P. Deegan when he retired at the end of June 2015.\u00a0 Adrian Gonzales, originally hired by the District as the Assistant Superintendent\/Vice President for Student Services in 2013, has been serving as the Interim Superintendent\/President since Deegan’s departure.\u00a0 Gonzales will continue to serve as the Interim Superintendent\/President while the search process continues.<\/p>\n
