Palomar Takes Second Place in the \u2018College or University\u2019 Category<\/h2>\n

SAN MARCOS \u2013 Palomar College was singled out as the only community college placing in the top five out of the region\u2019s colleges and universities in the 2015 \u00a0San Diego\u2019s Best Union-Tribune<\/em><\/strong> Reader\u2019s Poll<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n

The poll results, announced August 23, showed Palomar as placing second, sharing the \u201cbest\u201d designation with four-year universities. The other four named were San Diego State (#1); University of California, San Diego (#3); University of San Diego (#4); and National University (#5).<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re glad to know that Union-Tribune readers are tuned in to the great things Palomar has to offer,\u201d said Adrian Gonzales, Interim Superintendent-President. \u201cIn addition to our extensive programs, Palomar is known for being all about the people. Students are our highest priority\u00a0 – we have top-notch professors and staff members that really care about doing their best to help each student succeed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other finalists in the College or University<\/em> category were: California State University, San Marcos; Grossmont College; MiraCosta Community College; Point Loma Nazarene University; and San Diego Christian College.<\/p>\n

According to the Union-Tribune<\/em> website, the newspaper\u2019s readers were asked to share their \u201cbest\u201d picks in more than 150 categories \u201cfrom Best Brunch to Best Beach, from Best Movie Theatre to Best Museum, from Best Camera Store to Best Car wash, and nearly everything in between.\u201d The nominations began in April with voting from late May through the end of June.<\/p>\n
