In 2004, Smith and Versaci added a gala and awards for the best prose, poetry and visual arts every year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBravura definitely gives students a forum for their creative work,\u201d said Versaci. \u201cThere\u2019s a lot of artistry going on all over the campus, and Bravura is a place where students can show their work.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlso, the students who enroll in the course get the experience of working on a publication and learning all the ins and outs, working collaboratively,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Rolens, one of the new Bravura faculty advisers, said she feels honored to be taking over a project with such a rich history at Palomar.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt definitely feels like we\u2019ve got big shoes to fill\u2014it\u2019s intimidating, but it\u2019s exciting,\u201d said Rolens. \u201cStacey and I have already learned so much from Rocco and Carlton. Palomar\u2019s English Department is really special\u2014not every community college has such a wide range of literature classes or such a good literary magazine. We\u2019re really lucky to have this at Palomar.
