San Marcos, CA \u2013\u00a0 All campus sites in the Palomar Community College District will be closed and classes cancelled on Thursday evening, Dec. 7 and Friday, December 8 all day and evening due to wildfires within the District. Campus events during this time period are also canceled for all sites and facilities.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Superintendent\/President Dr. Joi Lin Blake said, \u201cThe safety and security of our campus community is our first priority.\u201d She said that the closure is a precautionary measure and there is no immediate threat to campus facilities at this time.\u00a0 Students, faculty and staff are asked to check their Palomar\u00a0email and\u00a0the college’s\u00a0social media sites\u00a0and website for any updates.\u00a0\u200b\u200b<\/p>\n

In addition to Palomar College\u2019s San Marcos campus and\u00a0 the Escondido Center, the college has sites at Camp Pendleton, Fallbrook and Mt. Carmel \u2013 all will be closed.<\/p>\n

College emergency personnel are monitoring the fire and will update the campus community, as appropriate.\u200b\u00a0Officials recommend that faculty, staff and students\u00a0monitor email in the event further updates and\/or safety instructions are sent out.<\/p>\n
