{"id":204,"date":"2015-03-06T15:14:54","date_gmt":"2015-03-06T23:14:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/news\/?p=204"},"modified":"2025-07-30T09:34:36","modified_gmt":"2025-07-30T16:34:36","slug":"palomar-college-refunds-general-obligation-bonds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/news\/palomar-college-refunds-general-obligation-bonds\/","title":{"rendered":"Palomar College Refunds General Obligation Bonds"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: left\">Taxpayers<i> Benefit from Refunding \u2013 from Series A to Series C Bonds<\/i><\/h2>\n<p>SAN MARCOS, CA \u2013 Local taxpayers have a lighter load to pay, thanks to Palomar College\u2019s refunding of series A general obligation bonds that were put into place as a result of the passage of Proposition M in November 2006.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe saved the taxpayers $17.5 million by refunding those bonds,\u201d said Palomar College Vice President of Finance and Administrative Services Ron Perez.<\/p>\n<p>Perez discussed the refinancing at the College\u2019s last two Governing Board meetings. He thanked his staff for their work on the Bond refunding, which took advantage of favorable conditions in the financial market and involved no issuance of capital appreciation bonds.
