This program is the first of its kind in North San Diego County<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n

(SAN MARCOS, CA \u2013 February 19, 2015) Starting fall semester this year, Palomar College nursing graduates can receive a coveted Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU) in just 15 months without ever leaving the Palomar College campus.\u00a0 This new partnership between the two institutions was unanimously approved by the Palomar College Governing Board at their February 10 Board meeting.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is an outstanding opportunity for our nursing graduates to complete their BSN degree right here at Palomar College,\u201d stated Robert Deegan, Palomar College Superintendent\/President.\u00a0 \u201cWe are excited to be able to offer our students a cost-effective option to complete their bachelor\u2019s degree at an institution with an exceptional reputation for educating nurses.\u00a0 This partnership with Point Loma Nazarene will provide a real benefit to North County residents with an increase in nurses for our community. \u201d<\/p>\n

The program, designed to address the increased workforce need for trained nurses, represents a first-of-its-kind partnership in North San Diego County between a community college and a local private university.\u00a0 Program tuition is $16,200 and this includes all expenses related to the RN to BSN Program. Educational and financial advising will be available on site at Palomar College by a staff from PLNU.<\/p>\n

The Palomar College Registered Nurse Program is accredited by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) and the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).\u00a0 Learn more about the Palomar College program<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The PLNU\u2019s nursing program recently celebrated its 40th anniversary. The program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and licensed by the California Board of Registered Nursing.\u00a0 Learn more about the nursing program.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n
