SAN MARCOS \u2013<\/b> Gate proceeds from Palomar College\u2019s Pacific Coast Athletic Conference men\u2019s volleyball match vs. Grossmont College on Friday, April 11 will be donated to the American Cancer Society. The special \u201cThink Pink\u201d<\/i> fundraiser, to be held at the Palomar Dome, is part of a joint statewide effort initiated by the California Community College Men\u2019s Volleyball Coaches Association.<\/p>\n

The event features the Comets\u2019 final match of the 2014 season vs. San Diego County-rival Grossmont College, beginning at 6 p.m.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur goal is to pack the Dome for this special event,\u201d said Director of Athletics Scott Cathcart. \u201cPrompted by the established model of our men\u2019s and women\u2019s basketball coaches associations, the state\u2019s men\u2019s volleyball coaches are seeking to do their part in support of this worthy cause and we are asking our campus community to support that effort.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gate proceeds and other fundraising activities from CCCAA men\u2019s volleyball matches throughout the state will be pooled into a combined donation from the men\u2019s volleyball coaches association and presented to representatives of the American Cancer Society at the state championship match, scheduled for April 25 at Santiago Canyon College in Orange.<\/p>\n
