Veterans Day Ceremony

This year’s theme is “The Support of the Veteran”

 

When:

Monday, November 10, 2014

noon – 1 p.m.

 

Where:

Palomar College

San Marcos Campus

1140 West Mission Road, San Marcos 92069

Near the Palomar College Veterans Memorial (in front of the flag pole at the Student Union)

Guests will need to obtain a “Visitor” parking permit from the Palomar College Police Department, and then may park in Lots 1 & 2.

 

Why:

In observance of Veterans Day, the College will come together at the campus Veterans Memorial (in front of the flag pole) for a ceremony honoring all those who have served and are serving their country.  This Fall semester, Palomar College is serving over 1,500 veterans, current active duty or current military dependents.  Palomar College has a rich history of serving veteran students – the College’s first class in 1946 was largely comprised of students just returning from World War II.  The College’s Veterans Service Office is one of the longest-serving veterans services offices at a community college in the state.

 

How:

Students, veterans, College officials and community dignitaries will congregate. College officials will commemorate the occasion.

College officials, special guests and the public.
