Details:

This event officially celebrates the grand opening of a new Veterans Resource Center at Palomar’s San Marcos campus. College dignitaries will be joined by local public officials, members of the campus and community.

The new center combines functions and activities that were previously housed separately on campus into one centralized space, creating a one-stop shop for our veterans. The new space includes multiple self-service computer stations for veterans to utilize in a central, large open space as well as a private study area and lounge. Our Veteran Services staff have private offices in the center, as well as a file/break room. All furniture for the space was graciously donated by BKM.

Among the services available to our veterans and military-affiliated students, the center provides:

  • Veteran to Veteran tutoring
  • Peer to Peer mentoring
  • Behavioral health counseling
  • V.A. benefit certification
  • Academic counseling
  • Veteran-oriented workshops (Financial Aid, DRC, Veteran Service Organizations, etc.)

Event speakers will include Palomar College President, Dr. Joi Lin Blake; Palomar Community College District Governing Board President Paul McNamara; Palomar College Vice President Student Services, Adrian Gonzales; and Veteran Services Supervisor Jessica Horn.

Event parking:

Parking for the Grand Opening Ceremony will be available without a permit in Lots 1 & 2 during the hours of the event. Follow the signs to the courtyard of the ST building.
