Why:

Palomar College has a well-known and highly respected photography department that has managed a vigorous and varied program for over 60 years.

“Enlightened Lens” is a juried exhibition of more than 70 photographic works made entirely by students from the Palomar College Photography program.  This year, three faculty members judged over 170 images entered by beginning to advanced photography students to create this annual show.

The works in this exhibition represent a variety of processes including digital and film-based, color and black and white, and traditional and alternative techniques.  The widely differing content of these images exemplify the breadth of the program.  Much of the work on view will be for sale.

Who:

The Palomar Photography Department student population is comprised of a diverse group in age, interest and background; they come from all areas of North San Diego County and beyond.  Their goals range from exploring career options to life enrichment.  In addition to acquiring strong technical skills, students are encouraged to pursue their own expressive personal vision as evidenced by the work displayed in this exhibition.
