SAN MARCOS — The Palomar College Foundation is gearing up for this year’s Giving Tuesday fund-raiser, an annual opportunity for members of the community to give back and support higher education. Giving Tuesday is scheduled for November 29, 2022.

“Every year, it’s exciting and humbling to see people come together for our students, and we are looking forward to what Giving Tuesday will bring in 2022,” said Dr. Star Rivera-Lacey, Palomar’s Superintendent/President.

The funds raised on Giving Tuesday will support the Foundation’s core programs—scholarships, textbook assistance and emergency grants—all of which serve the Foundation’s mission to remove financial barriers to education.

This year, according to Stacy Rungaitis, the Foundation’s Executive Director, a generous donor is offering to match all donations made on Giving Tuesday dollar for dollar—doubling the impact on student success.

“Through the generosity of our donors, the Palomar College Foundation makes the difference for hundreds of our students every year, who need that extra support to stay in school and pursue their goals,” said Rungaitis. “The students who receive this support are future scientists, teachers, scholars, artists, builders, and more. It is our privilege to help them on their way.”

Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage giving and celebrate generosity worldwide.
