SAN MARCOS, CA (October 3, 2014) – Palomar College will hold an official Grand Opening of the  Humanities Building on Friday, October 10 at 1 p.m. at the College in San Marcos.

The new Humanities Building, centrally located on the San Marcos campus, opened for classes at the beginning of summer session this year, June 16. The 90,000-square-foot, three-story building houses the following disciplines: English/Humanities, English as a Second Language, Reading Services, Speech Communication/Forensics/American Sign Language, World Languages, and Journalism.  The Humanities Building is the most recent facility to be completed using Proposition M bond funds, as approved by the voters in November 2006.

Palomar College President Robert P. Deegan will officiate at the event, which will feature speakers, a ceremonial ribbon-cutting, self-guided tours and refreshments. Guests will include Governing Board members, College officials, elected officials, community leaders, faculty and staff. The public is invited.

Parking without a permit will be available for the event in Lots 1 and 2. The College is located at 1140 West Mission Road, San Marcos, 92069.
