This program is the first of its kind in North San Diego County

(SAN MARCOS, CA – February 19, 2015) Starting fall semester this year, Palomar College nursing graduates can receive a coveted Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU) in just 15 months without ever leaving the Palomar College campus.  This new partnership between the two institutions was unanimously approved by the Palomar College Governing Board at their February 10 Board meeting.

“This is an outstanding opportunity for our nursing graduates to complete their BSN degree right here at Palomar College,” stated Robert Deegan, Palomar College Superintendent/President.  “We are excited to be able to offer our students a cost-effective option to complete their bachelor’s degree at an institution with an exceptional reputation for educating nurses.  This partnership with Point Loma Nazarene will provide a real benefit to North County residents with an increase in nurses for our community. ”

The program, designed to address the increased workforce need for trained nurses, represents a first-of-its-kind partnership in North San Diego County between a community college and a local private university.  Program tuition is $16,200 and this includes all expenses related to the RN to BSN Program. Educational and financial advising will be available on site at Palomar College by a staff from PLNU.
