SAN MARCOS – Gate proceeds from Palomar College’s Pacific Coast Athletic Conference men’s volleyball match vs. Grossmont College on Friday, April 11 will be donated to the American Cancer Society. The special “Think Pink” fundraiser, to be held at the Palomar Dome, is part of a joint statewide effort initiated by the California Community College Men’s Volleyball Coaches Association.

The event features the Comets’ final match of the 2014 season vs. San Diego County-rival Grossmont College, beginning at 6 p.m.

“Our goal is to pack the Dome for this special event,” said Director of Athletics Scott Cathcart. “Prompted by the established model of our men’s and women’s basketball coaches associations, the state’s men’s volleyball coaches are seeking to do their part in support of this worthy cause and we are asking our campus community to support that effort.”

Gate proceeds and other fundraising activities from CCCAA men’s volleyball matches throughout the state will be pooled into a combined donation from the men’s volleyball coaches association and presented to representatives of the American Cancer Society at the state championship match, scheduled for April 25 at Santiago Canyon College in Orange.
