The appointment fills the Area 4 seat vacated in September until voters return to the polls for the next general election in 2022.

SAN MARCOS — Following a month-long selection process, Poway resident Kartik Raju was sworn in as a Provisional Trustee during the regular meeting of the Palomar Community College District (PCCD) Governing Board on Tuesday, October 5, 2021.

The meeting was held with three members of the board and Superintendent/President Dr. Star Rivera-Lacey present on campus, while Raju took his oath of office remotely via Zoom, and a fifth board member participated remotely, as well.

Raju, who has worked in the aerospace industry for 17 years and holds an Electrical Engineering degree, joined the Governing Board following the September resignation of Brian Olson for personal reasons.

“Mr. Raju is a strong leader who has demonstrated his commitment to education in our district, and we are looking forward to working with him to promote student success at Palomar College,” said Dr. Rivera-Lacey.

Trustee Raju’s term will last through the next regularly scheduled general election in November 2022.
