SAN MARCOS — The Hispanic Outlook on Education has once again named Palomar as one of the “Top 100 Colleges and Universities for Hispanics” nationwide, in terms of enrollment and degrees earned by Latinx students.

The rankings, based on data provided in U.S. Department of Education surveys, place Palomar 20th in overall Latinx enrollment for the 2019-20 school year, and 51st in total associate degrees conferred on Latinx students in 2020.

“Palomar College is a place where all students are embraced as they pursue their academic goals and dreams,” said Superintendent/President Dr. Star Rivera-Lacey. “We are thrilled to accept this recognition on behalf of the thousands of Latinx students who contribute to the strength and diversity of this institution.”

The results were published in the Oct. 12, 2021 edition of Hispanic Outlook, which is a “national monthly magazine that provides education news, innovations, networking, resources and the latest trends impacting students from kindergarten through graduate school all while maintaining a unique Hispanic perspective.”
