Emy serves as the Student Support Program Coordinator for Palomar College\u2019s Native American Resource Center. She is dedicated to supporting Native students by creating spaces where they feel welcomed, seen, and connected\u2014whether through academic support, cultural programming, or access to resources.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"611\" data-end=\"1074\">Through the Native Student Support Program for Inclusion, Resilience, and Education (NSPIRE), Emy works to uplift American Indian\/Alaska Native students by coordinating student-centered services and community-based outreach. She has been actively involved in the program\u2019s development since its early stages\u2014collaborating with campus partners to shape the mission and vision, contributing to the creation of eligibility guidelines, supporting data and reporting efforts, and assisting in the revitalization of the Resource Center\u2019s presence and services on campus.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1076\" data-end=\"1333\">Her professional background includes serving as the Native American Student Support and Success Program (NASSSP) Grant Assistant and previously working as the Education Coordinator for the Rincon Indian Education Center (RIEC), where she supported Native youth through tutoring, academic enrichment, and culturally rooted educational activities.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1335\" data-end=\"1564\">Emy is passionate about educational equity and strives to build meaningful relationships with students and their communities. With over 15 years of experience in K-12 schools, community colleges, and universities, Anthony brings a deep commitment to supporting students through academic guidance, mentorship, and culturally responsive counseling.<\/p>\n<p>He earned a B.A. in Communications, a Master's in Counseling, and a Ph.D. in Education. Born in Los Angeles and raised in Oregon, Anthony has called San Diego home for more than a decade. His approach to counseling is rooted in empathy, advocacy, and a belief in the transformative power of education.<\/p>\n<p>Outside of work, Anthony enjoys spending time with his family, drinking coffee, cooking, hiking, traveling, and attending concerts. She is a proud first-generation Mexican American veteran college student.<\/p>\n<p>Leslie\u2019s long-time career in the California Community College system started more than twenty-two years ago at Riverside Community College District, where she started as a clerk typist in Health Services. She successfully transitioned through several valuable experiences and landed in Student Services. During this time, Leslie came to possess extensive experience in strategic planning, accreditation, budget administration, enrollment management, assessment, the Student Equity, and Achievement program, Guided Pathways, categorical programs (EOPS\/CARE, Cal Works, DSPS, etc.), career and transfer readiness, student discipline, and community relationships. After eighteen successful years at Riverside Community College District, she served as the Director of EOPS\/CARE at Mt.
