Applications for Media Studies student scholarships are NOW being accepted.<\/h3>\n

Photography<\/strong> is offering three scholarships of $500 each. Photography students can\u00a0apply<\/a> today.<\/p>\n

The Jonathan Downey Memorial Scholarship<\/strong> is for $750 and will be awarded to two students. This scholarship is open to all Media Studies students. Get the\u00a0application<\/a>\u00a0here.<\/p>\n

The Dick Warren Memorial Scholarship<\/strong> is named after KKSM\u2019s long-serving broadcast engineer who passed away in 2018. This is for any Digital Broadcast Arts\/Radio and Television student and will be for $500. Get the\u00a0application<\/a>\u00a0here.<\/p>\n

The Jonathan Downey Scholarship<\/h2>\n

In 2012, two months after graduating from Palomar College with a degree in Media and Communications, Jonathan Downey died suddenly of an undiagnosed heart condition. He was only 22, but in that short life, he touched the hearts of everyone he met. He would light up the room with his giant personality and was always willing to help or give one of his famous big hugs. He was loved by everyone and will be forever missed.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This money will be used as an endowment to benefit students in the Media Studies Department. It’s a scholarship that Downey would be proud of.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
