If Palomar College Library locations do not own the books or articles you need, it may be possible to get them from another library using a service known as Interlibrary Loan (ILL). ILL allows libraries to borrow from other libraries materials (books, videos and articles ) they don’t own.
Since Palomar College buildings (including our libraries) are closed to the public during the COVID-19 emergency our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) services are currently only available for requesting articles. Articles we request using ILL can be delivered electronically. However, since books and media require in person delivery (we can not mail items to requestors) Palomar Library can’t accept requests for such items. As soon as we can allow people to freely use the college facilities we will again begin allowing Palomar students, staff and faculty to request books and select media using Interlibrary Loan and notify users via the Library homepage.
Please remember to check our A to Z list of journals in case you can find a copy of the article in one of the periodicals (journals, magazines, newspapers, etc.) available through a Palomar College Library electronic resource. Searching the A to Z list helps you access available articles promptly!
ILL requests are processed by staff within 2 business days (Monday-Friday) of submission using online forms. Process an article request by using the request link below. That page also includes details about which articles you can request.
For more information about the Interlibrary Loan Service contact us via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. During the week (Mon.-Thur. 10am-9pm; Fri. 10am-2pm; Sun. 6-9pm) you can connect with us ‘live’ via the Library Zoom Room.
