The current NXT roster is as stacked as it\u2019s ever been, and due to that we have seen some truly amazing matches in this past year alone. What defines a \u201ctop\u201d superstar is subjective, but today I will be basing it on three factors: match quality, in-ring presence, and the ability to connect with the audience through the microphone. 5. The Velveteen Dream<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

At only 22 years of age, the Velveteen Dream is practically a prodigy, with his exciting gimmick and above-average in-ring performances dazzling NXT crowds night in and night out. Who knew that this cocky kid from Tough Enough would soon become the sweetheart of WWE\u2019s most fervent fanbase?<\/p>\n

4. Adam Cole<\/h2>\n

The independent wrestling sensation Adam Cole has already made an indelible mark in NXT by leading the heel faction The Undisputed Era, also featuring Kyle O\u2019Reilly and Bobby Fish, to great success. The best part about seeing Cole perform is knowing that we\u2019ve only seen the tip of the iceberg in terms of what he can do.<\/p>\n

3. Aleister Black<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Aleister Black is a badass, plain and true. His intimidating presence is almost akin to the Undertaker, and his devastating finishing move pictured above is sure to turn heads, pun intended, once he makes his way up to Raw or SmackDown LIVE.<\/p>\n

2. Andrade \u201cCien\u201d Almas<\/h2>\n

<\/p>\n

The current NXT champion Andrade \u201cCien\u201d Almas has been on an absolute tear these past few months. The addition of Zelina Vega to his act has brought new life to his character in many ways, and we are also currently seeing the best in-ring performances of his WWE career, including his recent match with\u2026<\/p>\n

1. Johnny Gargano<\/h2>\n

<\/p>\n

Johnny Gargano has connected with the WWE audience in an organic and powerful manner that we haven\u2019t seen since Daniel Bryan\u2019s run a few years ago. Gargano is the ultimate underdog with the ability to sell in-ring moves that would make the likes of Bret Hart blush, and he\u2019ll continue to prove why he\u2019s destined for greatness once he\u2019s called up to the main roster.<\/p>\n
