{"id":136,"date":"2015-02-26T18:57:40","date_gmt":"2015-02-26T18:57:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/internationalstudents\/?page_id=136"},"modified":"2026-04-13T11:04:47","modified_gmt":"2026-04-13T18:04:47","slug":"are-you-ready-to-apply-to-palomar-college","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/internationalstudents\/are-you-ready-to-apply-to-palomar-college\/","title":{"rendered":"Application Information"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Read this important information first&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Each applicant is required to submit <strong>all<\/strong> <strong>application documents<\/strong> to the Palomar College Office of International Education before the application <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/internationalstudents\/application-dates-deadlines\/\">deadline date<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>All documents must be in English<\/strong>.&nbsp; If documents are not in English, they must be translated into English by a certified English translator, not by a notary public.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copies of original, official forms are acceptable for application purposes. However, <strong>official transcripts are required if you wish to use prior credit earned to satisfy the requirements of your new program.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All documents submitted for application purposes become the property of Palomar College and will not be copied or returned.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applications that are missing any documents are considered incomplete and will not be considered for admission without prior approval.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Allow 2 weeks for processing after all required documents are received in our office.&nbsp;<\/strong> Processing time may be extended during peak times.&nbsp; Our goal is to send your acceptance as soon as possible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submit all documents to <a href=\"mailto:intladm@palomar.edu\">intladm@palomar.edu<\/a> in <strong>PDF format<\/strong>.&nbsp; This is the preferred method of submission. Make sure all documents are legible.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">F-1 Rules<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Incoming international students must attend full-time. This means that students are required to take and finish at least 12 units each semester. Nine (9) units must be taken in-person. Anything above 9 units may be taken online.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Some majors may not have classes offered in-person. There may be times when you have to enroll in a class or classes that are not required for your major in order to keep your F-1 status.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Overseas Applicants<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are overseas or have been out of the country for more than 5 months, follow these instructions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Create a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.opencccapply.net\/gateway\/apply?cccMisCode=061\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CCC&nbsp;Apply<\/a>&nbsp;account.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/internationalstudents\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/53\/2023\/04\/CCCApply-Steps-IE.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Click for Step-by-Step Instructions.<\/a>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Decline ID.me<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For Social Security Number, select \u201c<strong>Check this box if you do not have a Social Security Number<\/strong>&#8221; and &#8220;<strong>I am an international student<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For the Permanent Address, select, \u201c<strong>My&nbsp;permanent address is outside the United States<\/strong>\u201d and enter&nbsp;your address in your home country.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Email us the&nbsp;<strong>CCCID Number <\/strong>and the <strong>CONFIRMATION Number&nbsp;<\/strong>after you have submitted the Palomar College application. We will need this information to process your application.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fill out the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/internationalstudents\/international-student-application-2\/\">International Student Application\u00a0<\/a>and sign and date. A minimum total of $28,100 USD or equivalent&nbsp;is required.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Forms of funding that <strong>are&nbsp;not acceptable<\/strong>&nbsp;are proof of mortgage, stocks, bonds, investments, and retirement accounts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fill out the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/internationalstudents\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/53\/2025\/09\/Affidavit-of-Financial-Support-2026-1.pdf\">Affidavit of Financial Support<\/a>.&nbsp;Sign it and have your sponsor sign it if you have one.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Send English proficiency test results.
