<\/strong>Non-instructional (administrative) equipment and supplies are not allowed.<\/p>\n<p>Below are the project grant numbers associated with this funding along with the state expenditure 2023<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Lottery\"><\/span>Lottery<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Instructional departments and\/or disciplines that would like to request usage of lottery funds must complete the following steps:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Verify and review the request expenditure is an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/instruction\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/283\/2021\/03\/FS-20-11-Expanded-Allowable-Uses-of-Restricted-Proposition-20-Lottery-Funds-11.13.20.pdf\">allowable expense<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Identify and review approved <a style=\"font-size: inherit;background-color: #fefefe\" href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/instruction\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/283\/2019\/10\/FAS-20-01-Prop-20-Lottery-Allocations-for-2019-20_FINAL.pdf\">subsidiary account <\/a><span style=\"font-size: inherit\">for expenditure item(s)<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Request approval from your Department Chair and Instructional Dean<\/li>\n<li>If approved, email the Vice President of Instruction with supporting documentation of expenditure request with total cost<\/li>\n<li>After review, the Vice President of Instruction will provide an approval or denial. If approved, an appropriate account string will be provided. Please note all lottery expenditure requests are subject to final review by the Fiscal Department.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additional Information Related to Lottery Funds:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/instruction\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/283\/2020\/09\/advisory_00_01_8-Restricted-Lottery-Prop-20-uses.pdf\">Memorandum of Prop 20 Usage<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/instruction\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/283\/2020\/09\/00_01_august7-Restricted-Lotery-funds-uses-clarification.pdf\">Restricted Lottery Funds Use of Clarification<\/a><\/li>\n<li>The following <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/instruction\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/283\/2021\/11\/Terms.pdf\">terms<\/a> have the following meanings unless the context in which they appear clearly requires otherwise.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The following are examples of approved instructional expenditures per the guidelines:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Software<\/li>\n<li>Books, Magazines, and Periodicals<\/li>\n<li>Subscriptions<\/li>\n<li>Textbooks<\/li>\n<li>Instructional Materials Printing<\/li>\n<li>Instructional Supplies (including library media and audio visual)<\/li>\n<li>Software Licensing Fees<\/li>\n<li>Laptops and hotspots for students and faculty as learning resources<\/li>\n<li>Student basic needs including housing and food assistance<\/li>\n<li>Lesson plans and databases<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Please note<\/strong>: Restricted Lottery expenses must have supporting documentation to show the payment for the activity is supported by the curriculum or the instructional experience.\u00a0 If the instructor lists materials as part of the instructional experience in the syllabus, it could be justifiable.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Perkins\"><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/ctee\/department-links\/perkins-career-education-act\/\">Perkins<\/a><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Perkin\u2019s funds are to be used for program improvement of vocational programs. The funds cannot supplant.<\/li>\n<li>Incorporates secondary education and postsecondary education elements;<\/li>\n<li>Includes coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant career and technical content in a coordinated, non-duplicative progression of courses that align secondary to postsecondary education;<\/li>\n<li>May include an opportunity for secondary education students to gain post-secondary education credits through dual or concurrent enrollment programs or other means; and<\/li>\n<li>Leads to an industry-recognized credential or certificate at the postsecondary level or an associate or baccalaureate degree.<\/li>\n<li>Has a data component<\/li>\n<li>A few things we cannot purchase with Perkins funding: awards and memorabilia, contributions and donations, general advertising, maintenance, supplies and repairs.<\/li>\n<li>Generally, we are making these decisions in February-March.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Strong_Workforce\"><\/span>Strong Workforce<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>SWP funds are to be used for MORE AND BETTER CTE. The funds cannot supplant.<\/li>\n<li>SWP funds are less restrictive than Perkins funding.<\/li>\n<li>SWP funding criteria are grouped into seven areas targeting student success, career pathways, workforce data and outcomes, curriculum, CTE faculty, regional coordination and funding.<\/li>\n<li>Focuses on data-driven outcomes rather than activities.<\/li>\n<li>We have to look at supply and demand to fund a program.
