Moving across borders taught Mark that the best way to understand systems and people is to simply listen to their stories. He grew up in an environment where mental health was pushed under the rug, so he's on a mission to ditch the clinical clich\u00e9s, make vulnerability feel natural, and help people feel comfortable in their own skin. He hopes to one day be able to teach English learners to give back to the community since as a child he used to be an English learner myself. Adrian comes from a background that dictates asking for help is a sign of weakness instead he wants to change this attitude by making himself approachable to students so he can connect to resources that fit their needs. Growing up, feelings were something you pushed to the side and kept going, doing whatever needed to be done. As she got older, Sarah discovered that there is freedom in allowing herself to feel, acknowledge, and work through emotions. Sarah believes that mental health is such an important part of our overall well-being. As a peer mentor, she wants to help students find the resources and support they need, especially those in recovery.
