Trustee Area 2 Provisional Trustee Candidate Information

Thank you for your interest in serving on the Palomar Community College District Governing Board!

On February 14, 2023, the Governing Board adopted Resolution 22-21636 indicating its desire to appoint an individual to fill the District Trustee Area 2 seat which became vacant effective February 1, 2023. The Governing Board also adopted Resolution 22-21637 forming an ad hoc committee of trustees to address preliminary matters pertaining to the filling of the unexpired term including: development of a candidate information packet and application, development of a process for receiving and screening applications, and the development of a timeline. Trustees Michelle Rains and Roberto Rodriguez were selected to serve on the ad hoc committee to advise staff and oversee the process, with the understanding that the full Governing Board will consider, in public, all recommendations made to it by the ad hoc committee.

Timeline for Application/Appointment Process

  • Deadline for Application Submission: Friday, March 17, 2023, at 4:00 p.m.
  • Board Interviews with Selected Candidates and Oath of Office: Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 4:00 p.m.
  • Organizational Meeting – Election of Officers: Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at 4:00 p.m.
