The Fallbrook Student Resource and Learning Center brings classrooms, student services, wellness resources, and student life together in one location. As a result, students can navigate the campus more easily and access support in a clear and welcoming setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new facility was designed through collaboration with Palomar College departments, local high schools, tribal partners, students, and the Fallbrook Education Center Community Advisory Council to ensure it meets the needs of the community it serves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the same time, the project more than doubles the center\u2019s permanent facilities while maintaining strong connections to the surrounding landscape and community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Academic and Instructional Spaces<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
The building provides modern, flexible spaces that support diverse learning styles and academic pathways. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
These spaces include: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

- A multi\u2011discipline science laboratory serving Physics and Geology<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- A <\/strong>large lecture hall<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Four standard classrooms<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- A computer lab<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- A full\u2011service library with views of Monserate Mountain<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Five study rooms, including large group study spaces<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Together, these spaces support many learning styles. They also encourage collaboration and academic success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Student Services, Wellness, and Basic Needs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
The Fallbrook Student Resource and Learning Center also strengthens access to essential student services. By centralizing support functions, the building reduces barriers and improves the student experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Available services will include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- A comprehensive Student Services Department<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- An on\u2011site Health Center, including behavioral health counseling<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- A Food and Nutrition Center<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- A Bookstore<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
In addition, the facility includes Palomar College\u2019s first multi\u2011user, all\u2011gender restroom, supporting dignity, inclusion, and accessibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Student Life and Community Connection<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Beyond academics, the building provides spaces that support connection and engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- A student lounge for Student Life and Leadership activities<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Informal gathering and collaboration areas throughout the building<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Outdoor courtyards and covered seating areas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
With this space, students can connect with peers, participate in campus life, and engage with the college community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sustainability and Outdoor Environment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
In alignment with Palomar College\u2019s commitment to environmental stewardship, the building incorporates several sustainable design features: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

- A 155\u2011kilowatt solar photovoltaic system<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Extensive daylighting and indoor\u2011outdoor connections<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Edible landscaping, including citrus, grapes, and loquat trees<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- A Contemplation Garden offering a quiet place for reflection<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
These features support wellness, sustainability, and a strong connection to the natural environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Honoring Culture and Community<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
The design of the Fallbrook Student Resource and Learning Center reflects collaboration with students, faculty, local schools, community partners, and local Native American Tribal Nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cultural design elements are integrated throughout the building and landscape through color, texture, pattern, plant selection, and naming. In this way, the project honors the history of the land and the community it serves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Serving Fallbrook Today and Into the Future<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
The Fallbrook Student Resource and Learning Center represents a long\u2011term investment in education, access, and community connection. By expanding learning environments and strengthening student support, Palomar College continues to serve the Fallbrook & surrounding communities today and for generations to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
