Full-time employees may apply to receive additional personal FSA(s).<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Step One:\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To see if you qualify for an additional personal FSA, check the <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/facultysenate\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/173\/2021\/08\/All-Discipline-FSAs-as-of-03_21_22-Board-Approved.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">current approved discipline FSAs<\/span><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">.<\/span> Read both the state minimum qualifications and any additional qualifications made by the department at Palomar.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you do not see<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> a discipline FSA, please contact the FSA Chair<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Jason Jarvinen, <a href=\"mailto:jjarvinen@palomar.edu\">jjarvinen@palomar.edu<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Step Two:<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you qualify for an additional FSA, complete the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/facultysenate\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/173\/2022\/10\/FSAs-Form-Individual_10.4.2022.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">application for personal <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">FSA<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Tips for a Successful Personal FSA Application:<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Review and understand the minimum qualifications for the discipline as outlined by the state AND any additional competencies listed by the department in the discipline FSA.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Provide evidence that you meet both the minimum qualifications and the additional competencies.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Provide needed documentation; for example, transcripts.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Provide detailed information on courses you\u2019ve taught (if necessary), including course names, dates, and institutions.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Step Three:<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Submit your completed personal FSA application to Human Resource Services, <a href=\"mailto:HRHelp@palomar.edu\">HRHelp@palomar.edu<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><b>What happens next?<\/b><\/h1>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">HR will review your request for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/facultysenate\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/173\/2022\/10\/Minimum_Qualifications_17th_Edition.pdf\">minimum qualifications<\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you do not meet the minimum qualifications, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">HR will notify you to complete the equivalency documentation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you meet the minimum qualifications, your application will be brought to the FSA Committee for review.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The FSA committee will make a determination on whether your application meets the discipline FSA competencies.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">HR will notify the applicant of the outcome.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Apply for an Additional Personal FSA All full-time employees are automatically assigned a personal FSA when they are hired.
