{"id":2118,"date":"2023-09-25T14:31:20","date_gmt":"2023-09-25T21:31:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/fa\/?page_id=2118"},"modified":"2023-09-25T15:41:42","modified_gmt":"2023-09-25T22:41:42","slug":"foundation-textbook-assistance-program","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/fa\/foundation-textbook-assistance-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Textbook Assistance Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><span style=\"font-family: helvetica,arial,sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">Palomar College Foundation Textbook Assistance Program application is generally available one week prior to the start of each Fall and Spring semester.\u00a0 The Application period is open until funds are exhausted.\u00a0 See the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/foundation\/student-emergency-grants\/\">Foundation<\/a> website for more information<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;font-family: helvetica,arial,sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\"><strong>General Information:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica,arial,sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">Eligible students will see the link to the application on their <span style=\"color: #800000\">student MyPalomar account<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica,arial,sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">Students must have a current year FAFSA, online CCPG, or CA Dream Act Application (CADA) on file to determine Financial Need<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica,arial,sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">Applications will be available through the first week of classes &#8211; <span style=\"color: #800000\">or until funds are exhausted, whichever comes first.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica,arial,sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">Students are required to write a statement (125 word minimum) to explain the financial barrier(s) preventing them from purchasing required books and to discuss how the book grant will help them achieve their educational goals<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica,arial,sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">Financial Aid will send application decisions via Palomar email within five (5) business days (to the email address on the application);<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica,arial,sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">If the application is approved, the Foundation will provide funds for textbooks (new, used, or rentals) at the Follett Bookstore on the San Marcos campus. Students can maximize their award by using the book rental option (the student is responsible for following all book rental program guidelines);<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica,arial,sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">\u00a0NEW: Beginning Fall 2019, students will only be eligible to receive the award twice.
