Laura Padilla, M.A.

Laura Padilla is a Chicana educator from North County San Diego. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and a Minor in Ethnic Studies from California State University, San Marcos and a Master of Arts degree in Chicana and Chicano Studies from San Diego State University. Her community efforts and research interests include art, gender, sexuality, immigration, popular culture, and Chicana feminism. 

Born and raised in North County, she has been involved in community organizing efforts throughout San Diego around issues of education, immigration, and social justice. She also has a decade of experience working in elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, and higher education institutions. 

She has been teaching Ethnic Studies at colleges, high schools, and universities across San Diego county for the past five years, and is currently a full-time professor of Chicana/o Studies.
