This class is for students with little or no experience with a computer.<br>Students learn: computer vocabulary, email basics, internet basics, word processing basics<br>At the end of the course, students will be able to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Type a letter\/message using word processing software. The letter will use appropriate etiquette for the purpose and audience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copy and paste a letter\/message onto email and send it to their professor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>NOTE: *Students who pass NESL 982, 983, &amp; 984 can earn an official Palomar certificate in noncredit ESL computer skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>NESL 983\/Class Information<\/summary>\n<p><strong>NESL 983: Computer Skills 2<\/strong> \u2013 Office Applications: Noncredit only course<br>This is a basic computer literacy and skills class for non-native speakers of English. This class is for students with little or<br>no experience with a computer.<br>Students learn: computer vocabulary, academic emailing and internet use, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, &amp; Excel basics<br>At the end of the course, students will be able to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Follow written instructions provided by the teacher to produce a word document using a computer. They will be able to choose a particular font size and font style and include a graphic on the document.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Save the document and send it as an e-mail attachment to the teacher, using appropriate email etiquette.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br>NOTE: *Students who pass NESL 982, 983, &amp; 984 can earn an official Palomar certificate in noncredit ESL computer skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>NESL 984\/Class Information<\/summary>\n<p><strong>NESL 984: Computer Skills 3 <\/strong>\u2013 The Digital Age: Noncredit only course.This is a basic computer literacy and skills class for non-native speakers of English. This class is for students with little or no experience with a computer. This is a citizenship class for non-native speakers of English. Students learn about U.S. history and civics, culture, and community services. The class includes speaking and writing practice to help students pass the oral and written test to become United States Citizens.
