{"id":1172,"date":"2020-04-14T21:18:03","date_gmt":"2020-04-15T05:18:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/esl\/?page_id=1172"},"modified":"2026-08-20T10:44:43","modified_gmt":"2026-08-20T18:44:43","slug":"apply-online","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/esl\/steps-to-register-for-an-esl-class\/apply-online\/","title":{"rendered":"New Students"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Welcome to Palomar College&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>&#8220;You Start Here and Can Go Anywhere!&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\">Follow the steps below to begin your educational journey<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you can register for classes you will need to complete the Palomar College Application.<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&nbsp;<\/span>You must have a personal email account in order to submit an application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Apply<\/span><br><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students need to complete the CCCApply and the Palomar Application (CCC stands for California Community Colleges).&nbsp; <\/span>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You will have to create a Username and Password for the CCCApply, please make sure to write them down since you might need them later on.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/apply\">Learn more or get started.<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Once both applications have been completed you will receive two emails at the email address you used in your application.&nbsp;Your Palomar Student ID number will be sent in that email. <\/span><br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Choosing an ESL level<\/span><br><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Choose the ESL level and class that is best for you and call our ESL office Staff to let them know the level you have selected or to ask questions.&nbsp; If you prefer, you can email the ESL&nbsp; office staff from your Palomar College e-mail to request a level eligibility. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/esl\/esl-guided-self-placement\/placement-samples\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For help deciding on an ESL level.<br><br><\/span><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Create Password<\/span><br><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Once you receive your Palomar Student ID number you can now create a password at <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/my.palomar.edu\/psp\/palc9prd\/?cmd=login&amp;languageCd=ENG&amp;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">MyPalomar<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.&nbsp; number to submit a new application.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Credit Students<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students who would like to receive units from a course for a degree or diploma can take an ESL course with credits.&nbsp;An ESL credit course it is typically between 3-6 units.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students must apply online, which you can do on your own, or you can call one of our ESL Offices to receive assistance from our ESL staff with the online application.&nbsp;After you have applied online, you can select the ESL class and level that you would like to take.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Non-Credit Students<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students will not receive units for a degree or diploma, but will gain general English knowledge.&nbsp;Students are required to pay the Health fee for these non-credit classes.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">After you have applied online, you can call one of our ESL Offices and have our ESL Program Assistants help you enroll in the class that is right for you and level that you would like to take.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to Palomar College&nbsp;&nbsp;&#8220;You Start Here and Can Go Anywhere!&#8221;
