Please follow the steps below to successfully enroll at Palomar College. We\u2019re here to help every step of the way.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><strong>STEP ONE:&nbsp; Apply &amp; Activate<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applying for admission to Palomar College is a two-part process.&nbsp; A <strong>SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER IS NOT REQUIRED to apply.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>First, create an OpenCCC account at<a href=\"http:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/apply.\"> CCCApply<\/a>.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use an email and phone number that you have access to verify your account and continue the process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will be asked to complete the ID.me section to confirm your identity.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you can\u2019t complete the<a href=\"http:\/\/id.me\"> ID.me<\/a> section,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on \u201cWhat if I can\u2019t verify my identity with<a href=\"http:\/\/id.me\"> ID.me<\/a>?\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Read the \u201cDecline Verification\u201d box and proceed with the application.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will receive an email confirming that your profile was successfully completed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you need help getting access to the application, contact the CCC Apply Student Help Desk:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Phone: (877) 247-4836<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Email: support@openccc.net<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Second, continue with your<a href=\"http:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/apply.\"> free Palomar College online application<\/a>.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Citizenship\/Military section:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you do not have a current, valid immigration status, choose \u201cOther\u201d from the drop-down menu and click the box labeled \u201cNo documents.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Education section:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If applying for Summer or Fall terms before your high school graduation, indicate your expected graduation date and answer \u201cYes\u201d to \u201cDid you receive your diploma, GED, or certificate in California.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you will have attended 3 or more years of high school in California by graduation, answer \u201cYes\u201d to \u201cHave you attended high school in California for three or more years.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Note: If you met <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/enrollmentservices\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2023\/07\/AB540-General-Information-1-1.pdf\">\u00a0AB 540 eligibility<\/a> through attendance from high school, adult school or credit &amp; noncredit classes from California Community Colleges, or a combination,\u00a0 you can also say \u201cYes\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete all remaining questions &amp; submit your application.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once your Palomar application has been submitted:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be sure to write down your 8-digit application confirmation number.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will receive a welcome email from the Admissions Office with your student ID, and student email a few days after completing the application.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You will get a different email if you need to verify\u00a0 your residency status\/AB 540 eligibility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you do not receive a follow-up email within 3-5 business days containing your Palomar ID number, contact the Admissions Office.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set up a password on your<a href=\"https:\/\/my.palomar.edu\/\"> MyPalomar student portal.<\/a> This password will be used for\u00a0my Palomar, your Palomar student email and Canvas.\u00a0 Be sure to save this password!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you need additional support, contact the Admissions Office and have your Palomar application confirmation number. If you go in person, please bring a valid photo ID, including but not limited to a passport, school ID,\u00a0<em>matricula<\/em>, etc.)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In person: SSC Building<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Phone: (760) 774-1150, ext. 2164<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/palomar-edu.zoom.us\/s\/84910351216#success\">Drop-In Virtual Zoom Hours<\/a>: Monday-Friday 9am -1 pm<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Email:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:admissions@palomar.edu\">admissions@palomar.edu<\/a><br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<p><b>STEP TWO: Complete the AB 540 Nonresident Tuition Exemption\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/immigrantsrising.org\/resource\/ab-540-quick-guide\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">AB 540<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> allows eligible students, including undocumented students, to pay in-state tuition and be considered for state-based financial aid through the California Dream Act. <\/span><b>This is an important step! <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0Eligibility is based on:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ttendance requirements in California for high school, adult school, and community colleges (noncredit and credit courses) and;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Additional degree options that extend beyond the high school diploma &amp; GED. Get more details at<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/enrollmentservices\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2023\/07\/AB540-General-Information-1-1.pdf\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">AB 540 general information<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> &amp;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/immigrantsrising.org\/resource\/ab-540-quick-guide\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0AB 540 Quick Guide<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To be considered for AB 540 and become exempt from nonresident fees, students must complete an<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/enrollmentservices\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2021\/08\/AB-540-Affidavit-California-Nonresident-Tuition-Exemption-2020-Version.pdf\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">AB 540 Affidavit.<\/span><\/a>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There are two ways to complete the affidavit. However, it\u2019s important to complete ONLY one to avoid delays.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Option ONE: Print the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/enrollmentservices\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2021\/08\/AB-540-Affidavit-California-Nonresident-Tuition-Exemption-2020-Version.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">AB 540 Affidavit<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, complete it, and be sure it is signed. Submit it:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In person:\u00a0 at the Admissions Office (San Marcos campus) or any of our Education Centers (Escondido, Fallbrook, Rancho Bernardo).\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">By Email: Send a PDF Copy from your Palomar Student Email to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">admissions@palomar.edu<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Option TWO:\u00a0 Use the affidavit already included in the<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/dream.csac.ca.gov\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">California Dream Act Application<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Select Palomar College as your college.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With either option, BE SURE to follow up with the Admissions Office to make sure that your affidavit has been received and processed at Palomar College.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students who do not meet AB 540 requirements yet, have the option to meet these requirements by enrolling in noncredit classes at Palomar College or taking classes at our local adult schools, which are tuition-free and open to the community.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students who do not meet AB 540 eligibility can still attend credit classes at Palomar College; however, they would have to pay non-resident fees.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students with certain humanitarian visas, who are not eligible for AB 540, might still have<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/enrollmentservices\/residency\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">options to pay in-state fees if they meet specific requirements. Click here for more<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">information<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<p><b>STEP THREE: Apply for Financial Aid &amp; Scholarships<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">All students who will be eligible for AB 540 are encouraged to apply for financial aid through the<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dream.csac.ca.gov\/landing\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">CADAA (CA Dream Act Application)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> or scholarships.
