She is <span class=\"marknhodxier1\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">the<\/span> founder and leads <span class=\"marknhodxier1\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">the<\/span> Palomar Black Faculty Staff Association. She organized Black history month in 2020\u00a0with <span class=\"marknhodxier1\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">the<\/span> many workshops for our campus.<span class=\"x_x_x_x_x_x_x_Apple-converted-space\"> She coordinated<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"marknhodxier1\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">the<\/span> first inaugural celebration for Black graduates at Palomar College which is part <span class=\"markpl34i6y0i\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">of<\/span> <span class=\"marknhodxier1\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">the<\/span> college&#8217;s call to action for antiracism. Professor Colbert also co-coordinates <span class=\"marknhodxier1\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">the<\/span> Umoja program and is a member <span class=\"markpl34i6y0i\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">of<\/span> <span class=\"marknhodxier1\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">the<\/span> <span class=\"markri19nzw9f\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Empowered<\/span> Women affinity group on our campus. Last Fall 2020, she participated in <span class=\"marknhodxier1\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">the<\/span> plenary antiracism college project and co-led a workshop titled, &#8220;Seen and Unseen: Perceptions <span class=\"markpl34i6y0i\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">of<\/span> Black and Brown Women in <span class=\"marknhodxier1\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">the<\/span> Classroom&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Every year there will be nominations for the Woman of the Year Award at Palomar College.
