Each course will have a fast track option available as well. CPR certification from the American Heart Association.<\/td><td class=\"column-4\">CPR and Certificate of Completion<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr class=\"row-3\">\n\t<td class=\"column-1\">EME 106 - EMT Basic (Lecture)<br \/>\n6 units<\/td><td class=\"column-2\">Current CPR card for Health Care Providers, EME 105, and must be age 18 by the<br \/>\nfirst day of class<\/td><td class=\"column-3\">The study of EMT theory and knowledge required for identification and<br \/>\ntreatment of pre-hospital emergencies. The course prepares the student for<br \/>\nNational Registry, California, and San Diego County EMT certification.<\/td><td class=\"column-4\">Skills testing is verified and student is listed on the National Registry website which allows him\/her to test to become certified EMT. Will also earn Bleeding Control Certificate and Course Completion Certificate as proof of EMT training.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr class=\"row-4\">\n\t<td class=\"column-1\">EME 106L - EMT Basic (Lab)<br \/>\n1.5 units<\/td><td class=\"column-2\">Current CPR card for Health Care Providers, EME 105, and must be age 18 by the<br \/>\nfirst day of class<\/td><td class=\"column-3\">Application of skills required for treatment of pre-hospital emergencies. This<br \/>\ncourse prepares the student for National Registry, California and San Diego<br \/>\nCounty EMT certification. Student is required to complete 24 hours supervised<br \/>\nambulance observations.<\/td><td class=\"column-4\">same as above<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr class=\"row-5\">\n\t<td class=\"column-1\">EME 175 Paramedic Prep (Lecture)<br \/>\n2 units<\/td><td class=\"column-2\">Current EMT with a minimum of 3 months full time pre-hospital<br \/>\nexperience<\/td><td class=\"column-3\">An overview of paramedic-level assessment skills combined with appropriate<br \/>\nparamedic-level anatomy, physiology, and treatment relevant to the disease<br \/>\nprocesses studied.<\/td><td class=\"column-4\">Student earns 24 hours of continuing education credits as an EMT.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr class=\"row-6\">\n\t<td class=\"column-1\">EME 175L - Paramedic Prep (Lab)<br \/>\n1 unit<\/td><td class=\"column-2\">Current EMT with a minimum of 3 months full time pre-hospital<br \/>\nexperience<\/td><td class=\"column-3\">Performance of EMT skills combined with appropriate paramedic-level anatomy,<br \/>\nphysiology and treatment relevant to the disease processes studied<\/td><td class=\"column-4\">same as above<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr class=\"row-7\">\n\t<td class=\"column-1\">Paramedic Academy - 10-month program<\/td><td class=\"column-2\">Admission into Paramedic program<\/td><td class=\"column-3\">This program consists of EME: 206, 206L, 207, 207L, 208, 208L, 209, 209L, 210, 211, 212, 215, 220<\/td><td class=\"column-4\">The Paramedic Program prepares the student in all elements of prehospital<br \/>\nadvanced life support. Upon successful completion of the program, the student<br \/>\nis eligible to take the State of California EMT-P certification exam, which is the<br \/>\nNational Registry Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic Exam.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr class=\"row-8\">\n\t<td class=\"column-1\">Paramedic Refresher Course<br \/>\n4 units<\/td><td class=\"column-2\">Only open to students who have been accepted into the Paramedic Program<br \/>\nas a challenge or who were unsuccessful in EME 208\/208L, EME 209\/209L, EME<br \/>\n210 or EME 215 and require remediation.
