Mission Statement<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

The Universal Mission of the Palomar Environmental Health & Safety\/Risk Management (EH&S\/RM) Office is to promote the most optimal level achievable for a safe, secure, and healthy environment for employees, students, visitors and property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EH&S\/RM strives to support Palomar College by reducing risk and providing a solid long term foundation for education, work, the community and the environment.  EH&S\/RM will work with all levels of management, education, and the community to ensure it achieves these goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the Department<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

The EH&S\/RM area of the Facilities Department is responsible for providing information, guidance, inspections, ergonomic evaluations, indoor air quality evaluations, hazardous waste pick-up, earthquake safety, emergency operational plans, coordination of safety training seminars and permit and licensing requirements, liaison between local, state, and federal regulatory agencies and a wide variety of safety and training programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EH&S\/RM works to achieve these goals by tracking and reporting the major program activities on a monthly basis. EH&S\/RM also works with outside contractors for specialty services for Palomar College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
